The Gay Gamer: Anyone Else Out There?

So here is my first blog as a gay gamer, here to be the voice of gay gamers and people who love gays and gaming. I was never really one for writing online blogs as I thought of them as simply online diaries; I mean journals. But I was approached by our guild leader Momodari- a.k.a Momo. She proposed the idea of me writing an online blog directed towards gay gamers and I thought, “Well, I love games and gays so this might be something new and fun. Almost as fun as one would have trying that new trick I learned with my tongue”.

As the token gay dude in Fist of the Empire (FOE from here on in), I feel it is my job to let our members know as much about gay people and culture as possible and letting them ask any question that pops into their heads. Anything from “would you do that toon” to “are you great at giving head because my girl needs to learn something new”.

Then I got to thinking about how big the gay gaming community is. From what I have seen not so big or at least not as many gays are out to their guild mates. This clearly sucks. Think about the enjoyment you can bring to your guild! The diversity, the educating, the debauchery! Think of the debauchery! You can open a door that lead onto steps that lead you onto a platform where you are the leader and conduct how this circus is run. You are their sole knowledge of a gay guy and better yet, a gay gamer.

As a fellow gay man living in Brooklyn, New York, diversity and craziness comes with the territory. Have you been behind the black curtain in some of these gay clubs? Can someone say sticky?

You do not necessarily need to talk about blowjobs and the like, you will be the source of questions such as “do ALL gay men like to dance”? That was a question I was asked and my answer was, “I have yet to meet anyone-gay or straight- who did not like to dance”.
And it is not only the questions, you are the voice that tells the straight men in the guild exactly what women confide in us. The info they themselves are not privy to. I recall a conversation between one of our members and Momo when I was first discovered as the gay dude in FOE. I believe our member was discussing how well he satisfies his girl in bed and he only cuddles in order to quote “to stick it in you”. I said “that’s great but you may think your great in bed but when you’re really not guess who your girl comes up to and says ‘omg…he doesn’t know what fuck he is doing down there’? That’s right..it’s me. Her gay best friend.”

Now, I am not one to force anyone to come out when they are not ready. I understand a lot of people who game are in the military and that nasty issue of DADT is present. But if you are like me, where being open is not a big deal then by all means, make your guild more colorful. Speak to your guild leaders first and see how they would feel. Most guilds prefer diversity and would not mind something other than the A typical guild member. Once the foundation has been laid take that rainbow flag that you have hanging next to a picture of Lance Bass, drape it around yourself like a cape and say to your guild….”I suck dick and I am GOOOOOD!”

Enjoy the moment that is yours! Seize the pleasure of being the token gay guy as you would if you had a hot fireman in your apartment to check for a “gas leak”. Doing this will make it easier for you to be yourself in the gaming world and open the eyes and mind of other members. Who knows, there might be another gay guy in your guild who may not be out yet but would feel better knowing he is not alone.

The gaming place should not be a place for homophobia or any political or religious agenda. Being yourself in every possible outlet is everyone’s right. Own it!

Leaving you with something to think about:
“You can’t have a royal flush without your queen”.
